Living and learning how to be a person of faith in today’s world can be overwhelming and exhilarating.

There is no doubt that how we "do church" is changing in North America. Research shows us the decline of participation in religious organizations isn't slowing down. We cannot pretend that what we have always done is going to work. Recognizing the coming shift, I spent years looking at what next steps people of faith can take to help them to see God's work active in our world. This website is the result of that research.

I serve as the Pastor at Central Lutheran Church in NE Portland, Oregon. Central is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and is proud to be a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community. I am currently on a break from skating (where folks call me FeeNix, or Nix for short).
